Has anyone ever run Proseries Pro or Basic on a Mac running partitioned Window o/s with Parrallels or VM Fusion? Or will I be the first?

It can be done, but we do not support that configuration. You would effectively be on your own unfortunately as far as getting program help goes.

You mean no help with Proseries at all or just no help with o/s and hardware related issues?

Eventually, it could be worth it to Intuit to support this, just have a couple of people versed in the Mac and emulation.

My sense is that more people try this with Lacerte than Proseries even though Intuit officially doesn't condone either approach.

I think that as far as the program installs and licenses, you should not have much of a problem with the tax forms and functionality. What I was referring to was any type of system related crash or install errors, etc. That you may or may not encounter. I should have been a little more clear with my last post.

I'm thinking about purchasing a MAC. Have you downloaded and used Proseries on a Mac yet? If so, how's ig going? Thanks.

Hello I currently run proseries on Windows Vista and Windows XP. I also have the new Imac 24 inch All-in-one. I use VM fusion software and have one Vista VM and one XP VM both running version of proseries and actually faster than my native Windows Vista machines. It took me 7 days to get everything setup on my windows machines and less than one hour on the mac go figure. The mac configuration clearly is not currently supported but most vendors have started supporting VM (Virtual environments) so you may in luck this year there is a massive push for VM in the industry. This is what the imac is doing running the windows operating system in a Virtual environment along with all the windows application 25% faster than native windows machines (tested many times) without the Windows related errors. The Mac vmfusion software also has a unity feature that allows you to share mac and windows on one desktop seemlessly. I learned all that in 2 hours. Hope this answers your question? Also I am die hard Windows user.
