Hi,I can't get my home office depreciation recapture to show up on Sch D without using Form 4797. However the depreciation was not from a separate structure and therefore Form 4797 is not required per IRC. Additionally the recapture is not showing up in the tax calculation. Help...Thanks
Without looking at the forms since I just closed down to go to a meeting, the depreciation on the sale of a home office goes on the residence exclusion form. Is that the form you are using?
This limits the gain exclusion to 250 or 500 and recognizes only the depreciation.
When I return to my office I'll double check my input page is correct. Thank you for taking the time to help.
