Event ID 1000

I have a file server running Windows Server 2003 SP2. This server is hosting Quickbooks Database server manager for QB Enterprise Wholesale & MFG version 8. When I try to load the QB database server manager the icon shows up in the system tray, but I can not open the application. I get the following error in the application logs for event viewer: Event ID 1000 .net runtime 2.0 error. Faulting application qbserverutilitymgr.exe. All other program seem to be running fine so I do not think it's hardware related (i.e., faulty RAM). I do have .net framework 2.0 SP1 installed on the server. Users can access the QB server just fine as well. I just got QB version 9.0 in the mail but I wanted to try and resolve this error before I did the upgrade (in case it's indicates a lurking problem). Does anyone have any experience with this error?

I have installed QuickBooks 2009 on Server 2003 SP2 and I also get the same problem. This onlt started after upgrading from 2006 version. Never had ANY problems before. File is accessed by 2 network computers runing Windows XP with no problems on the user end. I initially had the error below untill I changed the service to start automatically instead of manually. The first error is the one I am currenly getting.

Yeah, I created a batch file that told the QB service to start when the PC started. For some reason doing that seemed to fix the issue.
