DMS and Network drive

I have a network hard drive connected to my wireless router. On it I have all my ProSeries client data and my DMS database. I can access the data from 3 desktops running XP with no problem. I have a laptop running Vista. I can access the ProSeries data with no problem, but when I try and select the DMS database on the network drive, I'm not able to see that drive as an option. I have no problem using that drive from the laptop with any other applications. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Massive user error? DMS problem?
Please try and map a drive to the DIR that is housing the dms database and see if you have the ability to access the database through that new mapped drive
I have my DMS data installed on a network drive. I just installed DMS on the laptop and had no problem browsing to the database on the network drive.
I did make the mistake in thinking that during setup, the program was asking for the data location. When I did that, I was told that the program itself has to be on a local drive.
Could this be your problem? Not likely I would think since you've already got three desktops using the data.
So, the network drive I'm talking about is connected to my wireless router. From the laptop in question, I can access the drive from the desktop and every other program, including ProSeries. So, what I did was actually mapped the drive and DMS worked right away. So, I think I'm good. I hope this helped others with a similar problem. Thanks all!
I have DMS loaded on my network computers. The database is on the server. We use Windows XP - when more than one person accesses the database (not necessarily the same client), performance is so degraded that the most often heard phrase in the office is "is anyone in DMS?".
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to fix this? I have called technical support, and even tried to buy a network version - I'm told there is no network version, but that the program should work fine the way I am using it.
