You are correct in saying there is "suppose" to be an export option. That is my issue, there isn't one. Importing into ProSeries works fine, just trying to resolve the reason I do not have the option to export to ProSeries from the Account menu in QB04.

Sorry to have not mentioned this b/f, but we are using a 5-user license of Premier Accountant Edition 2004.

I'm getting frustrated...I have the Quickbooks Premier 2005 Accountant Edition....On the Accountant menu, there is no option to export to proseries...

Furthermore...on my Proseries2004 menu, the only import option is from QuickEN, no quickbooks...can anyone help?

I am using the Proseries BASIC edition. Could that be the problem?

The basic I would assume has nothing to do with the Accountant Edition not having the option to export to pro series (my guess). As for the import on Pro Series, I can't answer that either but it makes sense. I have the express edition and do have the import option. I just do not have the export option on my Accountant Edition of QBs....

Europa:

I just got off the phone with customer support...Importing from Quickbooks will NOT work with Proseries basic no matter what edition of QB you are using.

I told the guy that he may want to inform decission makers that they probably should add that to the help screens. It's very annoying (to me at least) to try and do something that help says will work and doesn't.

Good luck.

But I have the EXPRESS edition. NOT Basic! Full blown mulit grand software. User above noted that he had basic...not I. So if I have the premeier accountant 2005 and Express PS TY04.....I should have that option no?

You are correct...I loaded the program 2 places which we are allowed to do. On one machine I have Quicken and on the other I don't. The Quicken import feature came up on one machine and not the other.

Basic is enough for me for now. We'll see how I like it. I'm used to Go System (Fast Tax) and Pro-sytems. I understand that Basic also doesn't do "At Risk" (6198). The kind of returns I'm doing I don't need it, but it's good to be aware of.

Quickbooks looks for an installation of ProSeries Professional on your workstation to open up the "Export" option.

Only Professional, not Basic or Express will configure the option.

Here's a clumsy work-around if you care enough to do it. On a separate workstation (you cannot install Express on the same machine with Professional), install a PPR (pay per return) version of ProSeries Professional (you must order or download this). Install Quickbooks on the same machine. Copy the ProSeries tax file from the database on your Express machine to the database on your Professional machine. Now you should be able to export from Quickbooks. After exporting from Quickbooks into the tax file, save the tax file and copy it back to the Express machine.

Probably not worth doing for one tax return, but if you do this a lot - maybe OK.

I started having this problem just recently. I am trying to export and/or import (tried both ways) to a form 1065 partnership in proseries. I get an error message that says that I am trying to import form 1040 schedule c information to a 1065 form. I instructs to go back to the company settings and select form 1065 instead of form 1040. The problem is, it is and always was set in quickbooks to the form 1065. Can anyone help me.
