I used the DMS program for the first time this year. I purchased the fi-5120C scanner from Intuit which was the recomended scanner on the website. I found it to be relatively easy to use once I got through the usual quirks of getting used to new technology. I have been accused of being a power user of everything I get. I notice that as I add clients and folders to my database it has become quite slow when it comes to refresh and other data base review, and/or adding folders to the universe. Does anyone out there have any thoughts. As for scanning original documents into the return...forget it, I tried for a couple of hours, and concluded that no progress was to be made. Did anyone do that? Thanks for the feedback!
This is our second year using DMS, and while we're generally pleased with the program, there's a lot of room for improvement.
The biggest issue is, as you mentioned, speed. We have over 5000 clients and the program really crawls. Any operation that causes the DMS database to refresh takes up to 10 seconds.
Intuit really needs to overhaul the database structure; perhaps replace it with SQL server.
