Scanner's & Software (Less Paper or Paperless)

I would be interested in how your firm is using or moving to this type of technology. Please include hardware such as high speed dual sided scanners, dual monitor or single large monitor usage. Also I know there are many different software packages available. Thanks.
I've been using PaperPort for managing the document scans because the images are good quality and not too large. PaperPort 11 Professional will also straighten the pages that scan a little crooked.
I typically scan at 300DPI. 200 works ok, but for light print or handwriting a higher resolution justifies the larger file size.
When the documents are two sided, and I want to interleave the pages, I use Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional. I don't use this for normal onesided scans though because the quality seems better through PaperPort.
My scanner is a Brother MFC-5440CN, and although it isn't as fast as many the price and quality are more than adequate for the job.
The Canon DR-1210C is a future upgrade for scanning.
I store documents in PDF format.
I use X1 Search to locate documents on the storage drive. I've been extremely happy with it, much more so than the Google desktop search engine (that doesn't index large documents) and the Windows product. It takes X1 a while to build the index the first time - but routine maintenance is nearly painless.
