You may want to make your own checklist. It is what we have done and it is tailored for each new client and or engagement. We also attempt to define failry clearly within the engagement letter exactly what the client hopes to accomplish and what we are gonig to provide. Thus there are no misunderstandings throughout the engagement. Hope this was helpful.

NACPB has excellent client bookkeeping, payroll, and QuickBooks services checklists, but you are required to be a member to use them. Their website is www.nacpb.org.

A check list is a very good idea. Each customer is very different. I just learned that the hard way.

Check out the attachment for an example to get you started. I keep a folder for each client with their original checklist and any notes from each visit kind of like a progress report. As one project ends you might close that project and when a different project for the same client begins start a new folder.

Thanks for sharing your docs. I love comparing others' docs to mine!

Noted that you specifically check regarding what OS clients run. Great idea!

I learned this the hard way in picking up a semi-new client this year. Didn't ask her what OS she used. Turned out she ran QB Pro '08 on her Mac, and I'm simply not Mac proficient. Yes, QB does look and "feel" different on a Mac, although the QB Mac file can be saved as a Windows file from w/in QB.

In the end, she purchased Parallels and installed a newly-purchased version of QB on Windows (per her preference).
