The solution

I've heard it put this way: Figure out how many hours you want to work in a year, figure out how much you want to earn plus how much it will cost you to be in business. Add up the dollars and divide by the hours.

Really, there are so many ways to develop your markup. Mostly, it's what you know is standard for your industry and your region, knowing this is a range, anyway, so then you figure out what the market will bear for whatever it is you are doing.

There are a lot of regional statistics on the web.

If this post answers your question, please give a "thumbs up" or mark this Solved to let others know about it.
