I live in the UK Quick books for mac is not available here. If I download a copy from the US site will it work ok here ie pounds not dollars etc.
ColinCCole, Adding to what Jason said, I've seen a number of people from the UK and other European countries asking about using QB for Mac. If you can, download the trial version and test it out. It's on this page of the Web site:
http://quickbooks.intuit.com/p...
(Jason, I sure hope this is in the developers' minds. QB for Mac really should add multiple-currency capability.)

Hi Debi,
Thanks for the link but it wont let me download the trial as I don't have a US address and phone number.
Thanks for your time though.
Seems strange that Intuit will not reply to my request to know when it will be available in the UK.
Cheers Colin

Colin, see Jason's post above. He is an Intuit employee. (Some of them volunteer their time on this forum, although it's technically user-to-user and not official technical support.)
Jason, have you had any luck finding an answer?

Hi Debi and Colin,
Hope you had a nice weekend!
Unfortunately no, I haven't heard anything about if or when it will be released yet. I wish I could tell you more.
I guess the best thing is to continue to let it be known that you would like to see a Mac version for the UK released. We do try to make our products right by our customers whenever possible.
Have a great day!

Colin, while there isn't a UK-specific version of QB Mac, I can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to use the US version and set your System Preferences to use pounds not dollars. QB will "adopt" the signs and treat your amounts as pounds.
Now, regarding the trial download: How about just creating a fictitious US address and telephone number? Try it! I can't imagine that the information is "verified accurate" - Intuit would want as many people to use the trial as possible. I could be wrong, but give it a shot. If it works, don't tell anyone I suggested this. =)

Hi ColinCCole,
I'm happy to hear you're interested in the product there!
Unfortunately, I don't know if it will work well in the UK, but I'm trying to get someone who knows to take a look at your post. We'll see what kind of information we get!
Cheers,
Jason
