Not from what I hear unless you fit a fairly narrow profile, maybe as a minority or woman-owned business.

Grants are very hard to get anymore unless you are bringing a significant amount of new jobs to an area. I would suggest trying to get a business LOC. Have you incorporated yet? Have you registered with DNB? Do you have a strong business credit score yet? Those are the first steps you will want to take when starting a business. You cannot count on grants that you do not have to pay back because they are few and far between.

I have seen many of these grant offers and unless it is from a true public agency, such as your local business development division, it is always a scam. Especially when they ask for money up front, it is a scam. A true grant includes funding for administration of the grant.
