"Red Flag" Up-date

The Federal Trade Commission has decided to delay enforcement of the “red flags” identity theft protection rules until June 1, 2010. The rules had originally been set to go into effect on Nov. 1.

That's very good news.  Maybe they'll just forget about them altogether.

I've been following an extremely interesting discussion on another list about cloud computing, its impact on the security of client data and identity, and how the Red Flag Rules may apply.  Since Intuit seems to be the industry leader in forcing us in this direction, maybe we should toss it around a bit.

Thanks for the update.  Seems like they never run out of "good ideas" to help out the tax and accounting professionals.
