PS Basic - Why no Print Preview option??

Basic does not have a Print Preview Option in order to support people who make ink for printers

Nergui, I never use the Print Preview in PS Pro since it was created. I have no use for it. When it was first introduced, it created a problem with the forms being printed or some such error, thereby screwing up every other print job in the future from that point forward.

If you want to see the entire form in PS Pro on one screen, change the print view size to 60%.

Even at 60%, there's still all those little worksheets built into the forms as they're displayed in ProSeries. So you don't get to see the way the form will actually look when printed.

I suppose I'd get used to that with time (and it's certainly convenient for data entry purposes), but still... why no print preview option??

(Does it still cause the errors you mention? Or as that been debugged?)

Neguri77, I'm glad you are evaluating ProSeries and ProSeries Basic side by side. You can clearly see the difference in the features you are paying for if you opt for the more expensive ProSeries product.

   You can have my print preview.  I don't use it either.  With form based entry like proseries pro, you already have the form with line #'s in front of you.  With sofware like Lacerte where it appears you enter from worksheets, you would want to preview actual form.  Is Basic unlike Pro in that it does not let you enter on actual form?

Taxiowa stole my thunder.  My primary reason for staying with PS is its forms-based entry.  I use PS Pro, but I can't ever remember using the print preview function.  In fact, I'm going to do it right now, so that I can make an informed comment.

OK, I looked at it; probably never will again, since the input forms are practically identical.  When I need to seriously preview a return, I set my printer to watermark "DRAFT" on it, and print a hard copy.

I use PS Pro and I just looked at it for the first time also and can see no reason why I would ever use it again.

   Thanks TAXOH, but I thought AM should get the credit since he first replied pretty much the same.  But he commented also.  And I would not have given you a point this week even if you felt sorry for me simply because your buckeyes took down my hawkeyes last Sat.  OK, I would not hold that against you.  But if IRMN's Gophers beat us next week and keep us out of the Fiesta Bowl, IRMN will not get a point from me for the next month!!!  I don't care if he does have a shoe phone.

You have to be careful with that shoe phone guy.  My only wish is that the Browns could play a game of football this season.

   Whoa, you are right, these Browns don't look to good.   I am lucky to have to watch them only once this year (OK twice , they played the Bears).  Feel sorry for you Ohio people that get them every week.  Unless you are talking about the old Browns who are now in Baltimore.
