Pictures showing up as X's

Some of my pictures are showing up on my website, but most aren't. Does anybody know why? I can view it when I view my site, but when other people do they are saying they have issues and most are showing up red X's.

I just thought I'd answer for those of you that may have this problem later on.
It says you can upload JPG.... in my instance ( I have a MAC - not sure if that was the issue) I had to upload GIF and they all worked fine...
