Access Send to DMS in Word 2007

ProSeries : 2008

Is anyone able to view the Send to DMS icon in Word 2007? If so, how did you make it visible?

If you chose to have the toolbars installed during the installation of DMS this is an easy matter to Resolve.

Simply open your Word 2007. Go to the Tools menu. Select Toolbars and make sure DMS has a check mark next to it. This will display the Send to DMS button in word. If you don't have the option for DMS in the toolbars menu you may want to contact technical support directly to verify this feature was setup correctly.

Tools Menu? Please tell me how to locate a Tools Menu in Word 2007? I can't find it anywhere in the ribbon.

Thanks.

Did you ever find out how to install the DMS icon on the Word 2007 toolbar? Or access it at all?

Thank you

No I didn't. While there's no problem finding the "Send to DMS" icon in Excel, Word doesn't seem to make it available.

As a workaround, if I want to send a Word file to DMS, I browse to the file with Word closed, right click on it and select Send To DMS. Sometimes, I will "print" the file to DMS which for most purposes is more than adequate.

When I first installed DMS, I unchecked the box to have it added to the Microsoft Office toolbar. Because of this post, I followed the instructions in the following article to "repair" the DMS install and checked the box to include DMS in Microsoft Office.

After installing, I opened Microsoft Word 2007, went to the Add-Ins tab, and Send to DMS was listed.

Here's the article to repair DMS (you may need to select ProSeries DMS instead of Lacerte DMS):

The problem that I have and others seem to have as well, is how to get the add-in tab to display in Word 2007.

I can see that the add-in is installed in Word by going to the Add-Ins section of the Word Options screen so I don't think this is a DMS installation/repair issue.

Furthermore, the DMS icon is readily available on the Excel Add-In tab.

I'm thinking that it might be related to the fact that Adobe Acrobat installs an Acrobat tab in Word 2007 and that that somehow hides the DMS icon.

Sorry my answer didn't help. It might be Acrobat, however, my Flash paper add-ins are displaying with the Send to DMS icon. So it's not just any other add-in. Hard to tell whether the problem is with Word or DMS or Acrobat.

You can print a Word document to DMS by selecting the DMS PDF Printer as your printer, but that's not as easy as using an icon.

I have the same question. The Add-In screen shows it is active, but it isn't on the ribbon, nor is it in Save As.  Does anyone have an answer?  (It works in Outlook 2007.  In Excel, I can click on the Add-Ins tab, then Save in DMS.)  But in Word there's nothing.

I also have the same question as above.  My situation is exactly the same as 'olycraig' above.  Does anyone have a solution to this?

The solution

go to start/run type regedit

got to lacerte/dms/programoptions/officetoolbarsettings/word

on the right side, double click the last option "Visible".  make the value data a 1 not 0 and click ok

start word 2007 and you should now see add-ins/save to dms
