Hi I am trying to get my own little tax preparation business started. I already have a EFIN from the irs. I wanted to know my next step and how much does the software cost?

Unless you expect to have a large number of clients immediately, the Pay Per Return option will be less expensive than buying a full package immediately.  The initial charge allows you to download all the forms you need, then you pay a small fee for each one you actually use. With this option, if you do have a large enough number of clients, there is a point at which you no longer have to pay for each individually.
