I'm really frustrated with you!!! You might make it easier to get support, especially with the purchase a new product. I'm having trouble printing checks, I'm not going to purchase a support plan, and I can find no way by email or phone to contact .

The default check style in Quickbooks is Voucher style. You simply need to go to printer setup first and change the check style to 3 on a page.

I'm with you on this. I just spent $600 for 2009 and enhanced payroll. I had this on my laptop for a few hours then it failed on me. I tried to repair, re-install, uninstall and delete all files, then re-install. The software will not boot anymore on my laptop and the only way to talk with someone is to get the number online acting like you want to buy a product. Then they say pay for support.

Are you getting any errors when you try to print a check? Is your printer being seen by QBooks? And where are you trying to print your checks from? The Write Check function? Pay bills?

I am not receiving an error message. I go to the file mention to "print checks" to initiate the process. On a 3-up, the first check is fine, but then the other two have what looks like the accounting line printed on them.....ruining the checks.

It was a really smart idea of intuit to have customers provide customer support for free - and stupid. The program costs too much not to have free tech support. In fact, free tech support is available - but via email only as far as I can tell.

Regarding your initial question, when you print checks, you must select the style of checks you are printing on EACH TIME you print a check. Voucher checks are easier if you are going to be printing singles, otherwise the 3 checks per page is nice - but there are two styles of those - so be sure to pick the right one.

Once you have a check to print, you can bring up this window by clicking print checks from home. There you will see a popup of the 3 styles of checks that integrate well with quickbooks.

Regarding your frustration with "me!!!"

Please take note that in this community you are not actually talking to Intuit staff (unless they identify themselves as such), and are relying on other users of quickbooks for assistance.

Expressing your frustration with "us!!" is not likely to garner useful answers to your question. Though I have tried to help you in this instance.

I just go out the phone with Intuit they do not provide the month of free support that QB Pro 2008 had. You have to pay or you don't get any help. Not even when you want to setup.

I am getting to the point of hating INTUIT products! No customer or technical support whatsoever. I am returning these products and going back to doing things by hand.

1 - go to the file menu -

2 - choose Printer Setup -

3 - In the "Form Name" box choose "Check/Paycheck"

4. Choose the correct printer and check style

5. You can also align the print if necessary with the lines on your checks.

6. You can also go to the other tabs here and change the font on your checks in some places

7. When you have all as you want it, choose "OK" and it should be saved until you change it. You should not have to choose the 3up check option each time you print, it should default to that.

8 as far as support - the help file is quite extensive, and there are many pro- advisors out there who would be happy to help you. They can get support easily - but they pay for it -- A smile will go much futher than a gripe in getting you what you want.

Cannot see current bank statement after downloading from online bank and importing into Quickbooks. I only can see history from 2000 and 2001. I previously had Quickbooks 2004 that would automatically download everything from my bank into Quickbooks and I need that type of functionality out of this software, Qickbooks 2009

I think there is a clear mis-understanding of what Intuit does in the way of it's support. BTW - I do NOT work for, with or on behalf of Intuit. With that out of the way, I think everyone needs to step back, breathe and think. We are all in this together as small business owners. Yes, QB's support is at times not the best if you do not have access to direct engineer based support. My recommendation IS to buy into there support plan. Our support plan is $1200 per each year but simply put, it is worth every penny. In fact, today, we have used them 3 times with success, problem solved. With the support plan, you get great AMERICAN based service along with a version upgrade each and every year in CD format, not just a download. I purchased Enterprise for $4000 three years ago. Each year, I get a brand new copy of QuickBooks - this year is 9.0, a great version - that is a great value. Plus, I have the engineers at hand at anytime I need assistance.

Also, something to consider for everyone who is ANTI-Intuit tech support, is contacting a local QB Pro Advisor. They are everywhere. The folks are of great help. Also, your local community college may have free support available as well. In Oregon, there are Small Business Centers all over within the community colleges who offer great support at discounted if not free rates. The SBC is associated with the SBA (Small Business Administration)

For the person who wants to go back to doing everything by hand, don’t do that to your self, it’s not worth the headache!

One last thing, I do not think downloading transactions from banks is safe bet. You lose complete control of your ledger/checkbook at this point as transactions are automatically entered without human intervention.

Any feedback on my post is welcome! I am curious what others views are.
