Failure to start 2006 program

Lacerte

I had to re-install 2006 program; that went seemingly fine.  When I try to start the program I get the following message and cannot go forward.: Access violation at address 005141C1 in module "W06tax.exe". Read of address 000000000000

Probably a silly question, but have you tried rebooting?  That seems to work for some people (but it didn't work for my being able to deal with organizers, so who knows?)
