Hello friends.
At the moment I am using QB Pro and have a retail store. During these 4 years I have never made any kind of maintenance neither QB Data Base, neither my computer.
The performance of my system is very slow when all 4 computer are working and when are making BackUp. In these last months I have had two issue. What my QB need to be reorder something like this and have followed the recommended procedure.
I also have many items in the inventory that them were already discontinued, and others were also created with wrong account that it didn't correspond them, ..... ...... etc, etc.
Please would thank your recommendations, because I need to take a decision.
You can try the options under file>utilities> verify, rebuild, cleanup and see if that helps. Sometimes it does.
As the QB file gets larger it slows things down, nothing can be done about that in QB. Intuit did not design in a feature to allow us to extract the current year(s) and create a new file (as they did for Quicken). At some point everyone needs to do that.
In the market place there is a utility by Karl Irwin which does this, I don't have the link handy sorry.

Three tasks to make your computer perform better.
Run Disk Cleanup (Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Cleanup). 20 minutes
Malware removal. Download, install and do a complete scan with MalwareBytes'
Anti-Malware http://www.malwarebytes.org Two hours.
Run Disk Defragmenter (Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defragmenter. 1 hour.

The F1 key on your keyboard is your friend. Use it! It has yet to break anything!
Hi Charles
Thank for respond me. I think my problem is not of hardware.
I have already made the "Disk Cleanup", and my computer also has Norton Antivirus installed. I want to mention that my computer is running in a multiuser environment with others three computers.
I have had these issues when I was trying to make my daily data file backup.
QuickBooks did not permit me to do it. QuickBoks was asking me to follow with suggested procedure.
I do not know if these issues is for the amount of register that my data file has accumulated during these 4 years. Also it can be the amount of mistakes when the items were created in my inventory file.
Are there some way of deleting all the items are no longer used and rebuild my inventory file?.
How many years of information QuickBooks recommends should be stored without that it lose performance?.
