I just completed my first pro advisor certification 09 .I have worked in accounting & banking for 5+ years, but not in QBs. I have Masters in Accounting and Finance , now want to work 4-5 hours so I can take care of my kids. I want to work with someone to get more confidence in QBs ,What  should I do and who should I approach ?

Hello Anuk,

Thank you for your question and welcome to the world of Pro Advisors. I like your idea of seeking out a mentor. I would make two recommendations to you:

1. Do a search for starting a QuickBooks Consulting business and an Accounting or Bookkeeping business. There are a number of good books and organizations out there that can assist you.

2. I would also suggest that you check out our Pro Advisors private forum and inform them that you are looking for a mentor. http://community.intuit.com/ca...

Good luck.

Jim

Hello. I have a friend who worked for H&R Block for years and has since opened her own accounting firm. If you would like to talk to her, feel free to contact me via personal email and I will give you her information and she may be able to help you. You can reach me at clewis68@msn.com.

Internships, paid or unpaid can be very helpful in acquiring the right experience for what you want to do with your education and QBs certification. We operate a "mommy shop" and our bookkeepers all work around their family schedules as we see clients at our offices, client offices, and virtually through remote access. More information is available in my profile.
