restore failed

US QuickBooks Premier : 2009: Accountant

i have qb 2009 stored on desktop and laptop. when i restore from flash drive to laptop it works but when i restore to desktop is says restore fail

i am also having the same problem, i tried to copy the back up file onto my hard drive and then restore it from there rather than the usb but that did not work either.  still kept seeing restore failed.
