Fla. UTC6 filing

US QuickBooks Pro for Windows : 2009

We are in Fla. Our accountant files a UTC6 form quarterly. Is there a way to set up our payroll program to calculate our responsibility and allow us to file this electronically? It cost us $225.00 topay $4.80 this quarter using our accountant.

On the employees' record under Payroll and Compensation Info click on Taxes. Go to the second tab (state). Put a check mark for SUI (company paid) and choose FL as the state. Go to the Payroll Item List and Edit the Unemployment tax item. Make sure that you have the rate correctly. Go back to the employees and put the FL SUI check mark on all of the records.

QuickBooks is not going to calculate the unemployment tax on those checks that are already recorded. It will start with the next paycheck you create.

Only the Enhanced Payroll subscription will provide you with the form (the UCT-6). You could get the information that is required on the website without the regular Payroll Subscription, though.

If you had not paid your accountant 225.00 to come up with the 4.80 liability, how certain are you that you could figure out your liability?
