Clicking “Reconcile Now” makes QuickBooks 2009 immediately shut down.

US QuickBooks Pro for Windows : 2009

When I am reconciling my back account, and right after I click on “Reconcile Now”, QuickBooks 2009 immediately shuts down. Is there a fix or patch for this?

OK, try this.  Go to the homepage.  F2 then F3.  Click the Open File tab.  Scroll down to QBWIN.LOG.  Click on it then on Open File.  Copy and paste it here.

If the answer's in there, I don't see it.  Maybe an Advanced PA or Intuit host will come along with an answer.  What does customer support say?  In the meantime try this-at the home page, hit F2. About halfway down you'll see 'DB file fragments if the number is over 12 or so, defrag the entire disk.  Also, make a portable file backup then reopen it.
