Printer Error While Printing Form 1099

I am trying to print my Form 1099s and when I tried to print them I got a PDF Activation Error -20 "You cannot print directly to the QuickBooks PDF Converter. Try Using QuickBooks Save as PDF menu option. When I press OK, another box comes up saying Intuit Printer Library "Could not print to printer. Check your printer selection. Printing may have been canceled from another program. When I click OK, the first error box comes up again, and I'm stuck in an infinite loop.

Why did this happen and how do I get out of this?

You need to setup your printer for form 1099. I have version 2007, so I will explain how it works in this version.

Select FILE, then PRINTER SETUP from the main toolbar. Then select the 1099s/1096 option. There is a box called printer name - use the pull down menu to choose your actual printer, then select OK.

If you have another version, try this and if it doesn't work the same, try using HELP to find instructions for setting up printers for form 1099.

Hope this helps.
