W2c - can it be e-filed through QB?

US QuickBooks Premier : 2008: Accountant

I e-filed my W2 and W3 forms through QB. I have since found out that an employees last name was spelled incorrectly so I need to do a W2c. Can I do this through QB and if so, how?

The solution

For a misspelled employee name, I wouldn't even file a W-2c. The IRS tracks people by Social Security number - not names. Nothing to worry about.

To answer your question though - no you file a W-2c online through the SS Administration or request the form from the IRS and fill out out by hand! Old school I know - but that's how I do it. It isn't available through QB.

Hope this helps! If so, please mark Solved or ask more questions. Thanks.

Debbie
