Where is my Payroll Item List
US QuickBooks Premier : 2008: Contractor
Under the lists menu I should have payroll item list but it is not there How Come? What do i do to get it? ( I have already gone to pref. and selected full payroll.)

You need either a payroll tax table subscription or you need to set you file to manual payroll, to activate the functions.

Latest post
Search the Help system for "manual payroll" and click the first topic that displays. Read this topic, it has another link in it, read the next topic (you are given plenty of reasons to pay for a subscription instead of doing payroll manually), and finally there is a link, near the bottom, that you need to click to set the file to manual payroll.
