in Windows, go to the Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs and uninstall it.  If you still can't remove it, you may want to do a system restore.

Sounds to me like one of those rogue antivirus programs that stick a virus in your system, tell you it's there, and then want your money to get rid of it.  Believe it or not, there is such a thing.  The only thing I've found to get rid of those is a program called Malwarebytes.  The free prog will get rid of it; the pro version at a reasonable price (to me anyway) will keep you from that kind of program real time.

Let us know how you make out with it,

Deni
