fees for accounting services
Total Views: 172
I have worked for more than 20 years, in different positions from book keeping, to Controller. I always received salary. Beginning June 2009, I decided to have my own clients and I do not have any problem to do any accounting related jobs to build up my customers. My problem is how to charge them to be fair for my clients and myself? Is there any place to find this kind of information?
Thank you.

Fees will vary based on your experience, expertise and credentials as well as geographic area, etc. But, here's the link to Intuit's Billing Rate Survey with average rates based on different factors and criteria.

I must tell you from experience that I have a BA in accounting. I have always worked for large corporations in several accounting positions too. But in this economy, I must be honest in telling you that I have found the pricing for clients to be more about the clients size and time required when negotiating a fee. Be able to negotiate a rate of fee based on their individual needs and not a flat rate for all companies. They all have different needs and time to solve their accounting questions/problems.
