is there a way to set up a local payroll tax withholding formula that is subject to a wage maximum?
The best way to set up a new table is to copy the formula from a similar existing one. For example local code GAL has a $7500 wage limit.
1. Find a tax code with a similar formula to the new one you want to setup.
2. Highlight the entire formula (sometimes they scroll down, so watch for that) and press CTRL+C.
3. Click Save.
4. Type in a new code name and description.
5. Highlight the existing formula and press CTRL+V.
6. Complete the table with percentages, amounts and brackets as applicable.
7. When finished, Save.
8. After the code setup is complete, it can be used on the Employee's Wage/Withholding tab as a local tax.
