I am considering purchasing a macbook and running proseries on the windows side. Any pros or cons from existing users.

will proseries run on a macbook?

I used to have a mac and would love to go back to using a mac as long as running proseries on it will work fine. What experiences do people have in running proseires on a mac. Will windows 7 work or should I stay with XP.

Just a general observation, I don't know squat about Macbooks.  But ProSeries with Windows XP is probably the most stable OS/software combination that I've used since DOS days.  I think it runs better under XP than Microsoft's own apps.  It literally never crashes or corrupts a file, and it's a major reason why I come back to PS year after year.  I'll switch away from XP when it's literally impossible to continue with it.

I would definitely recommend that you continue to use Windows XP as it has been the most stable MS System and I would not use anything else at this point in time
