Question about autofill feature
Total Views: 46
I have Autofill toggled on to save time while entering data. On some entry fields, autofill has memorized mistaken spellings. Is there a way to edit the table that contains the autofill data?
I went to http://my.proseries.intuit.com/support/index.aspx... and searched on autofill.
The second result was the following article that tells you how to edit the file.
I do not see a way to edit it. I think you just have to re-enter with the correct spelling and put up with the incorrect spelling as a list item. This would be a good feature for the program to have.
I just tried the feature - its been turned on but I didn't worry about it or really notice much. It's tied into pick lists and instructions claim you can select the down arrow and get into the window - presumably editable. There is no down arrow and the feature functions poorly and somewhat intermittently. It is also case sensitive so "bank" will not get you "Bank". Intuit is obviously still working on the function.

Sheesh! They've been working on it for years now and still can't get it right. At least the employer database is editable. (Is that a word?) You would think that we should be able to edit the other lists as well.

Gee, Archie, isn't that we already have been? We are the ones who discover, report, and find work-arounds for the myriad of bugs each year. Lying to the computer has become a way of life.
Why do you guys think they gave us an overide capability?

Thanks Lisa. I am sure that will be the answer to my problem.
I did search for the answer before posting my question, but I did not search for autofill. If you search for something like how to correct autofill, the answer does not come up. Apparently we have to use queries of as few words as possible for the search engine to be helpful.

Great. Now I can spend the next month as an Intuit beta-tester.
