Performance issues with QBES 9.0
We recently upgraded from enterprise solutions 8.0 to 9.0. Our data file is 788, 252K - 2.8GHz - 4GB RAM. Had absolutely no problems before. Have verified and rebuilt data file, nothing helps.

Hello John,
Could you provide some more information on what the performance issues are? Are they around particular workflows or a general observation? Can you let me know which Operating System you are using, and if you are using hosted mode for the database?
thanks
Siddharth
We are hosting a five user environment on windows xp. Whenever saving a transaction, it makes the entire system hang for about 30-60 seconds. After speaking with tech support a couple times, the last tech told us to disable all startup apps and services. This made QB run as fast as it should, thus there is a conflicting app or service running at startup. The tech told us he could not help any more after that point. How am I supposed to find which app or service is conflicting with QB and what did I pay so much for when I can't get the support I need when I need it especially since QB is the only program on our computer with issues.
Thanks
Hi John,
Sorry about the troubles you are having with enterprise. Can you tell me if the services you stopped included anti-virus software (like McAfee?) If possible, can you send me a list of services you had running on the machine
thanks
Siddharth
Siddharth,
I had McAfee and thought that might be the problem, so I uninstalled it completey. Still have the same problem. How can I send you a list of services?
Thanks
Hi John,
Unfortunately, figuring out the conflicts can be a difficult issue to solve. Anti virus software is often the cause, but apparently not in your case.
If you are technically inclined (or have a friend or colleague who is) I would suggest using the process explore. It is pretty easy to use. It is part of the free sysinternals tools at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx
Make sure all the services are running, and fire up process explorer. Keep an eye on which services seem to be active when you try to save a transaction, and quickbooks is slow. As soon as it has been saved, stop recording in process explorer. review the services that were active while the save was in process, and try disabling them one by one.
Please let me know of your progress and if I can help further
