Invoices NOT recording in system under vendor bal. details

I enter an invoice and it doesn't record in the system. But, I CAN find it when I check invoices for that vendor. So, it is in the system, but not recorded against that vendor in VENDOR BAL. DETAIL. I have re-entered them, same thing happens.
