Why doesn't online bank transactions download work anymore?

Many banks are unfriendly to QBOL.  Some banks will only download to a personal computer (not to SaaS).  Some banks require a beeper to get a user number prior to connection.  Clearly, QBOL cannot qualify as a personal computer, and it can't press a beeper.  My nonprofit had accounts at 4 banks: Citibank required a beeper, Wachovia would only download to a personal computer, Bank of America was fully compliant with QBOL, and Deutsche had other issues.  You need to ask your bank if it cooperates with QBOL, and if not, perhaps use a different bank for your checking account.  My nonprofit switched its primary checking account to the bank we found to be the most friendly with QBOL.

Many thanks for your reply. I understand what you are saying. I use two banks, one of which is BOA and it won't work with QBOL, I THINK because my checking account is not a business account and it equates QuickBooks with business accounts. The other bank (and NOTE this is the curious thing) did work fine with QBOL and then just suddenly StOPPED working. That's what I don't understand.
