Can i set the date format to yy/mm/dd?
You can go to Edit>Preferences>General, and under the Company Preferences tab uncheck the box "always show year as four digits"
I am not familiar with Mac so I am sorry I can't help....hopefully someone else will respond for you. Good Luck!
KipperInKanada, I don't know whether you're asking this because of Canada's check-formatting requirements. According to the product (QB 2009 for Mac) Web site, "Canadian Image Ready Cheques are not supported."
That aside, as I understand things, QB 2009 for Mac pulls its currency and (I think, but I'm not sure) date formatting from the Mac's "International: Formats" system preferences. Check yours to see if the date styling is set up the way you want it to be.

Off topic: If you haven't already done so, be sure to read the Help section called "Using QuickBooks in Canada." It doesn't cover this topic, but it should be helpful in other important areas.

Thanks for the suggestion.
The Edit>Preferences>General is not an option in my version. I am using a Mac version of the software and it would appear that my menu system is different.
I just switched to QB from Simply Accounting (because I wanted a Mac accounting package). In SA this was possible, and a very desirable feature.
