Trying to set up central copier/scan/print. Most copiers don't come Twain compliant. Does anything else work
If you can't get TWAIN drivers, here are a couple of ideas:
- Setup a "temp" folder to scan the docs to, then drag and drop them into the correct location in DMS when you are back at your desk.
- OR, if equipped, have the copier email the PDF to you and then drag and drop it into DMS. (We have multifunction copiers on the network that do this nicely)
Another way we do it in our office is have the scanner's software send the image to the DMS printer, but this will either require a light workstation at the central location or the scanner setup to send files to all the users' workstations. If the scanner does not always auto-increment the file name and you cannot/do not want to name the file from the scanner's panel, then only a central workstation will do the job (DMS printer cannot queue multiple copies of the same filename.) One benefit of this is being able to run any scanner-supplied software for OCR/processing before importing the file.
