You're right when you attach a document it saves it to the Intuit server and not locally. You can save it locally, but it won't be attached to QuickBooks.






There are other document management products that would work locally. See my review of PaperSave Plus as an example.
to be expected limited use of features why does intuit has to have access to customers data they are a software company and limit the use of the software to just try to make a buck at the expense of data security

There are valid reasons for having an online store of that kind of data. It makes it easily accessible to various users, it makes it easier to save documents while on the road, and so forth. THis is an example of "cloud" computing as many people are seeking. There have been other DMS products that work with QuickBooks this same way, before now.
As I mentioned, if you don't want that kind of feature, there are DMS products that store the data locally. So you do have a choice. Some people like it the way it is, some don't, some can't use it. It is an optional feature.
