Use your downtime to create better short-, medium-, and long-term business strategies that fit your goals and budgets. If you have a little budget to spend, find someone local who can help you with your planning and fill out whatever weak spots you have. Do the things that you always wanted to do, but didn't have time for because you were too tied up running the business. Take time to go to chamber and other industry events. You'll keep busy and although you may not see a spike in revenue, you will be laying the groundwork for increased success in the future and will be better-positioned to weather future economic storms.
I am a brand new business in Loveland Colo. I strated up in Sept. of 2008! We just have had 2 new pellet wood processing plants open within 120 miles from me ! Any ideals out there to inprove my newest Company to attract new business for delivery and pickup of Super Premium Pellets!
Sincerly,
Landluv from Loveland Colorado.
ps I'm holding my own in this economic crisis were in My feeling are if I can make it this first year then I'll be rockin when things get better in this country!
hi, landluv:
My folks live in Maine where burning wood pellets has become so popular that local manufacturers have been hard put to keep up with demand. Prices took a big hike back in late summer before gas prices started to fall (cordwood has been selling for something like $240 a cord from what I hear!). I don't see oil prices staying depressed forever and gas is starting to rise again. Teach people about how to safely burn wood pellets and I think you'll have a sound business.

As Al Pacino siad in a movie" Always, Always....Always be closing. I like to say instead in order to close, you need to market, so Always, Always....Always be marketing!
Marketing you or marketing your business means, networking, using social media, networking groups. You cannot be heard if you don't speak & you cannot be seen if you are hiding. If you can't be seen or heard, you don't exist. Marketing, always be marketing~
