Lots of ways, My favorite work around:

1. create a fiticious job called "Stock"

2. when you buy stock materials (not inventory tracking) using non-inventory items or other charge items, assign the Stock job.

3. When you need to shift the cost from Stock to Actual job use a -0- check method.

4. On a Write Check form, assign a fiticious bank account at the top, called Allocations.

5. On the Write Check form use the items tab, row one enter a negative amount and assign the Stock Job. on line two enter a positive amount and the actual job.

You have to know what your cost for materials are since you are not truly managing inventory.
