If you mean QuickBooks press the F2 key>
If you mean Lacerte > Tools > Lacerte Updates > Version Info

There's also a way in Lacerte to hit the F10 key to see what version you have, but if you have one version of, say, the Individual program, and another version of, say, the corporate program, (or if you're not sure if they're different) you have to go to each module and do F10. Ray's way is probably better.
