When I print the return to DMS, can I change it so the file name contains the client's last name instead of the client number?

Although I don't know anything about DMS, why don't you change the file name in Lacerte so that instead of a number, it becomes SMITHABC or whatever you want with up to 8 characters.  If you want to keep your numbering system intact, then instead of CHANGING the 12345678 file to SMITHABC, you could COPY the 12345678 file to SMITHABC.  Then, in either case, you can take SMITHABC and do whatever it is that DMS does automatically.

While the Print to DMS box would lead you to believe there are macro options other than client id, there does not seem to be an automatic function for doing this when printing the returns.  However, if you change the option (Settings > Options > Setup > Complete Return - DMS) to prompt for client folder, it will always bring up the standard dialog box and you can rename the file then.
