Problem with former employee now rehired and not seeing him in payroll scheduled, have to pay unschduled payroll. qb09

I have an employee that quit working years ago. We have rehired him. I couldn't get him into my scheduled payroll even though I mad him active. So I made a new employee with his name now I have him on my list twice only way to pay him unscheduled p.

Make sure the employee has NO Release Date in there set up. go to the employee and change the tab to Employment Info and clear the Release date.
You need to assign him to a payroll schedule in the employee records.
