what is the difference between "vendor" and "other"? If I travel for business, would I list the airline, rental car, restaurant I ate at,etc. all as vendors or other?

The QuickBooks definition of a Vendor is anyone who you buy a product or service from. The Other category is like a catch all that will allow you to change the type to one of the 3 main types in QuickBooks (Customer, Vendor, and Employee) at a later time if you wish.
