Invoice date vs. period date

Does the invoice date dictate what period the invoice is recorded in? If the invoice is dated 12/31 but received in January, when I enter the invoice does it put that in December or Jan.

The solution

The date on the enter bills screen will record your transactions in the month based on the date that you use.  So in other words if you use a date of 12/31 the period will be December.  If you use a date of 01/01 the period will be January.

If this helps you, please mark this question as solved or helpful (click the button under the answer in the lower, right corner), if this does not answer your question, please include more information or additional questions so we may better assist you. Have a Great Day!

So the date on the enter bill screen, is this the invoice date or the period date it will go into?

The date on the screen represents the invoice date as well as the period the expenses will be recorded into.  The date on the screen is also used to determine the due date that will be used on your aging reports.
