If you are in VA, do you have to have a business license to start an e-business? Thanks!

Most likely--check with your local city hall and your secretary of state.  The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provides free consulting for people to help them start their own business--you should contact them.

We run a small janitorial company, in Spotsy county, for a services oriented business, you have to be doing above 250K in revenue before you need one.  Other counties don't require any business license.  Orange is an example.  Definitely check with your local county/city to see what the requirements are.
