Looking for a way to make DMS & Microsoft outlook work better/faster together

Lacerte

DMS & Microsoft outlook emails. Is anyone using a product that automatically stores the emails in DMS? Or has someone found a way to make DMS and Microsoft work together faster to save an email in DMS?

Have you enabled the Outlook DMS toolbar? There is no way to "automatically" save emails in DMS that I am aware of. Hard to fathom an office that would want to save every single email in DMS. I personally don't save an email unless it has "source" data that I use to prepare the return. Attachments, yes. Drag and drop. But the email itself is usually worthless....

The smarter we get, the more dangerous we become.

Yes, we have the toolbar enabled.  Also, we use the print to DMS feature or the drag and drop.  We are concerned about capturing any advice that a preparer may provide throughout the year to the Client.

Per our conversation, you will need to assess these emails on a case by case basis and either send, drag/drop, or print them to DMS.
