There is no problem upgrading for free to QB 2009 if QB 2008 is purchased within last 60 days. You can get a download for free. If you need the re-installation Cd, you can get it for something like $15.

I did this before I submitted my question. When I talked with the intuit staff, I had to spend about an hour on the phone, talk to a supervisor, explain that i was within the time frame to send 2008 back for a full refund, and then convince him to upgrade me to 2009 without charging me the 'processing fees'.

It was not a fast, easy, or simple fix. But, it was possible. My experience may have been atypical, but I do not think so. The reason for this post was to ascertain the level of customer satisfaction of others in my position - without generating undue bias against their particular circumstance. I have been rather nonplussed by their support to date.

Why am I stating this now? There were so few posts regarding this issue, that it seems the feedback I was seeking will not be forthcoming.

I recently purchased QB 2008 for a not -for -profit organization. Would there be any real advantage for me to upgrade to 2009?
