You did click "Apply" afterward to save that change, I'm sure. Try one or both of the following:

1. Change the owner password.

2. With QB shut down, trash QB's preference file that's in your user account (path: [user/home]/Library/Preferences/com.intuit.QuickBooks2009.plist).

Companty/Company Settings/Show dropdown and select Passwords. You will figure it out at that point.

If you don't fully understand the differences, check the Help documentation in the application.

Okay, That did not work. I did exactly what you said and when I quit and relaunch, it does not ask for my password like it used to.

Owner password.

Choose Company > Company Settings, and then choose Passwords from the Show pop-up menu.

In the Owner Password field, enter the text for the owner password.
