How do I merge two accounts into one? One account became inactive but still has a balance remaining, which should actually be the balance of the new account I just created (which shows a balance of $0, which is incorrect).

You should be able to go under banking and select transfer funds.

You can either go to Banking and then transfer funds or you can create a journal entry.  With the journal entry  you would be able to enter notes if needed.

The inactive account is not showing up under my chart of accounts to choose it to transfer funds from, so I would then have to reactive it in order to do so, correct? and will that cause any problems, when I do? Im using Quickbooks Pro 2009. Please advise, and thank you for your help!
