Confirmed Interruption – No ETA - 6/1/11
We know you rely on Intuit and understand the need to restore your ability to upload direct deposit payroll. We’re sorry for the inconvenience. We’re working to get it running as soon as possible.

What if we can't get our Direct Deposits in before 5:00 today? And will we be charges "late charges" if it doesn't go through until tomorrow?
The professionally responsible thing to have done would have been to send an e-mail notice to all customers impacted at the time of the incident (which was ~8am CDT for us) and follow it up with updates.
You are just now acknowledging there is an issue 6 hours into it?
My only hopes are that you will continue to provide a minimum of hourly updates...
It would have been nice to know this issue in advance. Instead Intuit/Quickbooks customers are running around in the dark, on hold for two hours and worst yet, given false hope.
At least make us aware of the problem so we could have made other arrangements. Now it is too late and I wasted two hours on hold for nothing.
Not the best business solution for customers at all.
I agree - I have been on hold for over 30 minutes with the supposed direct deposit support line. I called in on the ProAdvisor line over 3 hours ago; was connnected to a person whose accent was too hard to understand. She would not get me a supervisor until I insisted but then transferred to me to this line instead.
I have been given 2 different answers for what to do. 1st rep told me to keep transmitting up to 7 pm. The recording on the direct deposit line states up to 6 pm. The software keeps telling me that the checks will be late each time I try.
One of the payrolls I am transmitting is for a very small non-profit. The employees need their checks badly!
I finally got mine to go thru. It was after 5PM and I got the warning. I just got this email
We received your payroll on June 1, 2011 at 5:22 PM Pacific Time.
* Funds will be withdrawn from the bank account number ending in: 3883 on June 2, 2011.
* Amount to be withdrawn: $12,962.37
* Paychecks will be deposited to your employees' accounts on: June 3, 2011
so it looks like the money should be direct deposited on Friday
Really unfortunate the way this was handled
Thanks Kaydee! I just called the director of the client and they decided to issue checks. The employees of this organization are not paid very much and they must have their checks on time. They operate on a tight budge and I can't risk issuing the checks on Friday and then having the funds taken again later.
I was in the process of switching all of my other payroll client's to QB and encouraging them to go with direct deposit. I will re-think that now! Intuit, are you hearing this??
I use Intuit to process my taxes only and process my direct deposits through my bank. As long as you don't have too many employees, it's not that bad. I cheat the system by creating a P/R that is direct deposited, print out the paychecks and the paycheck stubs, but before I submit it to Intuit I go into each check and uncheck the Direct Deposit box. Once that's done, I submit my P/R. I never have to worry about my direct deposits not getting to my employee's and my bank only needs 1 day to process them instead of 2 days. You may want to see if your bank can process the Direct Deposits through their Cash Management/ACH.
Our bank's charges for this are almost as outrageous as Intuit's handling of this situation. That was one reason why we went to QB Payroll.
I called in over three hours ago and was told the server issue would be fixed in two hours. We are on the east coast and I leave work in less than 1.5 hours. When will this be fixed?
Also, in support of terrischeuman's post - what if you can't get this fixed by the time we all leave work on the east coast? Will you expedite our deposits through so that everyone is paid on time which is Friday morning?
Please reply. We have 70 employees and cannot risk having payroll be late.
Thank you.

Proper and timely notificaion of this issue would have allowed time for businesses to make alternate payment / payroll plans and to inform their employees and vendors of Intuit's issues.
Always remember your 7 P's :Proper prior planning prevents pitifully poor production!
Agreed! Now I have my direct deposits sitting in limbo and risk not getting it thru before the bank cut-off. Had I known about this problem this morning, I could have printed payroll checks instead!
This is not an inconvenience, this is people's livelyhood, and when it is to late for the banks to process I will have 35 angry employees. There should be more options and answers then sorry. We need updates so we can inform our employees.
I agree, a head's up would have done wonders! Email me, Call me, Text me if you have to but don't leave me stranded at the last minute and then tell me to KEEP TRYING! That's just not going to work.
I Will Be on the Phone with ADP in the morning!
Steve,
What I need most to know is that I can send payroll when your server is fixed (irregardless of when that is) and my deposits for my employees will still be on time, which is Friday morning 6-3-11. Please confirm. Thanks, Deb
I too have been dealing with this issue all day.."Im sorry", will not go over with my employees well! This issue needs to be resolved ASAP! And why have I not recieved any emails or notifications regarding this issue??? Very frustrating!! What will happen with payroll if it does not go thru by 5pm?? What is the resolve?? I am in need of immediate assistance.
I just learned that there will be a second upload of DD payroll for DIY + DD (non-Assisted) payroll users at 7PM PDT. This pushes the deadline back by 2 hours. As more information becomes available, I will post it here.
Steve,
Thank you for updating us. I live over 35 minutes away from my office. Are you telling me the only solution is that I drive back here tonight, closer to 11PM my time in order to transmit payroll? That truly is unacceptable. Please confirm that you will accept transmissions tomorrow morning and guarantee that they will be in our employee's bank accounts Friday morning. We have 70 employees and I cannot risk payroll being late.
Thank you.
Lisa
Thank you. It helps to get the update. Hope the extra two hours resolves the problem. Please do keep us informed with additional updates as you have them.
